Serdang Bedagai (July 16) – Regal Springs Indonesia’s (PT Aqua Farm Nusantara) commitment to supporting stunting prevention continues to be realized through collaboration with the Serdang Bedagai National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) through one of its flagship programs, the Genting Program (Foster Parents’ Movement to Prevent Stunting).
Through the GENTING (Foster Parents’ Movement to Prevent Stunting) program, the company distributes more than 140 kilograms of tilapia trimmings each month to the BKKBN to be processed into nutritious processed foods and distributed directly to children at risk of stunting. The distribution of the processed foods took place today, Wednesday (July 16), at the Pekan Tanjung Beringin Village Community Hall.
Sahrial, Community Officer of Regal Springs Indonesia, explained that this initiative is part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which focuses on fulfilling community nutrition needs through the use of tilapia.
In his remarks, the Head of the P2KB3A Office, Dr. Helmi Nur Iskandar, expressed his appreciation for Regal Springs Indonesia’s contribution over the past three years in supporting stunting reduction efforts in the Serdang Bedagai area.
“Specifically, over the past three months, 39 toddlers have regularly received processed tilapia fish food, and now the number has increased to 75,” he explained. He hopes this program will continue and contribute significantly to reducing stunting rates in Serdang Bedagai Regency.
Nurtiana Ginting, Coordinator of the Family Planning Extension Center, explained that tilapia trimmings distributed by Regal Springs Indonesia are processed by stunting cadres in eight villages through Dapur Dahsyat (Healthy Kitchen to Overcome Stunting). The processed food is then distributed directly to the homes of the beneficiary children.
Meanwhile, the Head of Pekan Tanjung Beringin Village, Ir. Indra Syahputra, stated that one of the children’s favorite foods is tilapia fish meatballs. “We really appreciate this and hope to receive more support in the future for nutritious tilapia-based food for the children in our village,” he said.
The GENTING program itself is a national program initiated by the Ministry of Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga)/BKKBN, and officially launched on December 5, 2024. Each district/city in Indonesia has been assigned a target. Serdang Bedagai Regency is one of the regions strongly committed to making the program a success.
